Tour of the Oakland University - Human Health Building

Summary of presentation:
The $62 million 172,000 square foot Human Health Building (HHB) - a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly academic facility includes innovative energy and HVAC systems. Oakland University will give a brief presentation on the energy technologies and financial performance prior to a tour of the energy systems. Building highlights include:
- Over 300 geothermal wells
- Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) geothermal heat pump HVAC
- Humidity controlled, desiccant energy recovery makeup air systems
- Solar thermal hot water heating with 100,000 gallons of underground storage
- Solar Photovoltaic renewable energy generation
- Awarded a 2014 Construction and Design Award by The Engineering Society of Detroit
- LEED Platinum Certified
