The East Michigan Association of Energy Engineers invites you to attend their meeting on Tuesday February 11, 2014.

Industrial Continuous Energy Improvement

By: Josh Davis
Josh Davis studied mechanical engineering at Michigan State University. He has worked for Consumers Energy Business Solutions (CEBS) since 2010 in the energy efficiency field under the implementation contractor, DNV GL. During his time with CEBS Josh has focused on field inspections, energy project review, and solar water heating. He currently works on industrial energy management by hosting energy trainings, performing energy audits, and developing energy management practices at industrial sites.

Synopsis:
Industrial sites consume as much as 30% of the total energy in the United States. Implementing a system to manage energy leads to continuous improvement of energy performance. The U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency support the development of these Energy Management Systems (EnMS) by way of ISO 50001, ENERGY STARŪ Challenge for Industry, and/or Superior Energy Performance. Implementing an EnMS can lead to improvements of 10-20% of energy performance.
